Foot clinic

KLIPSAN – The Foot Clinic of Harbors Home Health and Hospice is offering a foot clinic at the Peninsula Senior Activity Center on Wednesday, July 8 and additional clinics will be held every other month. This service is designed for people who have difficulty taking care of their own feet and are free from complicating health conditions. Foot care provided includes an inspection of your feet, nail trimming and soft buffing of calluses by a registered nurse or CNA under the direction of an RN. Summer Youth Adventure

PENINSULA – Summer Youth Adventure Program is for youth entering or currently in the fifth or sixth grade. Take part in a four-week camp through July 31. Groups will meet one day a week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enrollment is limited. Each week, experienced educators from Pacific County Health and Human Services will lead the youth on outdoor adventures including: hiking, rock climbing, mountain bike riding and archery. Friday, July 10WDFW meeting

OLYMPIA – The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission meets beginning at 8:30 a.m. on July 10 and 11 in room 172 of the National Resources building, 1111 Washington St. S.E., in Olympia. The commission is set to take action on a new policy aimed at advancing conservation and recovery of wild salmon and steelhead populations, include coordinated reform of harvest management and hatchery operations. Among other proposals, the commission will consider re-authorizing a pilot program that allows cougar hunting with dogs in counties that meet specified criteria, special trapping permits, deer and elk damage claims and regulations governing commercial crab fishing on the Washington coast. MAMAS group

LONG BEACH – A group called “MAMAS” meets every Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at 811 Pacific Hwy S, Suite 16 in the midwifery office between THC Organic Market and LB Coffee Roasters. This is a support group for mothers on the Long Beach Peninsula and surrounding areas. Mothering issues include breastfeeding, parenting, birthing and nutrition and answer questions pregnant women or new mothers may have. Saturday, July 11Paint horse ride

LONG BEACH – The Southwest Washington Paint Horse Club, a group approved by the American Paint Horse Association, is holding a guided fun beach ride from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 11. The ride will start and end at the Bolstad beach approach. The cost is $20 per rider and includes a dinner on Saturday evening and breakfast on Sunday morning at the saddle club. Youth cost is $18 per rider. Non-riders are welcome to attend the dinner and breakfast and visit with the national directors of the American Paint Horse Association. Non-riders pay $10 for dinner and $8 for breakfast. Dry camping is available at the Peninsula Saddle Club on Sandridge Road. Space may be available to stall your horse at The Red Barn. First Nations Gathering

RAYMOND – There will be a First Nations Gathering on July 11 at the Riverfront Park at the south end of Third Street in downtown Raymond. The gathering, which celebrates Native American culture and heritage, starts at 10 a.m., and goes all day. There will be dancers, drummers and arts and crafts vendors at the alcohol-free gathering, which is open to the public. The five tribes of the Chinook Nation host the event. KLIPSAN – A fundraising pancake breakfast feed will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 11 at the Peninsula Senior Activity Center. Starving Artists Sale

OCEAN PARK – The Peninsula Arts Association is having their annual “Starving Artists Sale” on July 11 at the Ocean Park Library from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be artwork, supplies, books, frames and more at rock bottom prices – nothing is priced at more than $50. Bowling fundraisers

ILWACO – Hilltop Bowl is hosting several bowling fundraisers to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Long Beach. Bowling times are available at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15; and at noon on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 19. The cost is $12 per person for two games and shoe rental. LONG BEACH – The 25th Annual SandSations sand sculpture contest is July 17 and July 18 at the Bolstad beach approach. CHINOOK – A tomboy princess, a pea, 20 mattresses and an evil queen who refuses to find a bride for her princely son! LB Rodeo

LONG BEACH – The 64th Annual Long Beach Rodeo and Family Night is coming July 25 and 26 to 6407 Sandridge Road. Start each day with a cowboy breakfast from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. The show starts at 1 p.m., with the finest bulls, cows and bucking horses coming from Gold Buckle Rodeo Company. Plus there will be a beer garden, sponsored by Budweiser, and various vendors on the boards. After the Saturday show, the family fun events start, with events including mutton busting, stick horse races and lots more. Presale tickets are available at the Ilwaco, Long Beach or Ocean Park Peninsula Pharmacy. Admission is $10 for adults and $9 for seniors. Children under five years old get in free, plus there is free parking.

Apply to attend Camp Victory

PENINSULA – Camp Victory, a program is for girls from Pacific and Gray’s Harbor counties who have been sexually abused, is accepting applications for the four-day recreational camp held in October each year. This camp free of charge, and girls are matched one-on-one with carefully screened, trained adult workers. Adults are needed to assist, are carefully screened and receive 30 to 40 hours of training prior to their actual camp experience on subjects such as sexual abuse and prevention, child development, communication skills and camp activities.
