RAYMOND — A man was captured by law enforcement after fleeing on foot in the Old Willapa area of Raymond on March 8. The man was wanted on a no bail warrant for allegedly violating a plea agreement.
Tegan A. Tipler Jr., 25, was convicted via a plea agreement in the Pacific County Superior Court (PCSC) on March 28, 2025, of third-degree assault and was handed a Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative (DOSA).
The originating incident occurred on Dec. 28, 2024, when Tipler reportedly trashed a woman’s apartment in the Riverdale area of Raymond, assaulted her, and threatened her with a knife. He fled from the area before law enforcement arrived on scene.
Pacific County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Deputy Dustin Eaton and his K-9 partner Axel assisted in searching the area and never were able to locate Tipler, who was accustomed to eluding law enforcement. He has fled from officers numerous times over his criminal career.
At his sentencing on March 28, 2025, he was ordered to spend 30 days in a residential treatment facility along with serving 24 months of community custody. Any violation would mean he could spend the remaining time in prison.
According to court documents, Tipler completed inpatient treatment on July 23, 2025, and abided by his plea agreement from at least March 28, 2025, through Aug. 18, 2025.
The Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) notified the Pacific County Superior Court that Tipler failed drug tests on Oct. 28, 2025, Nov. 4, 2025, Nov. 12, 2025, Nov. 18, 2025, when he tested positive for methamphetamine.
He also failed to attend a drug treatment program on Oct. 31, 2025, and Nov. 25, 2025.
According to court documents, the PCSC revoked Tipler’s residential DOSA on Jan. 2 and issued a no bail warrant for his arrest.
DOC also notified the court that Tipler had absconded from supervision on Feb. 3, which resulted in a DOC warrant of which he also was eluding.
Tipler managed to evade capture for nearly a month before officers homed in on him on March 8 in the Old Willapa area of Raymond. One deputy from the PCSO and officers from the Raymond and South Bend Police Department’s converged on the area.
According to radio traffic, Tipler fled from the officer’s multiple times through the area and was cutoff along the Willapa River. He was eventually apprehended and taken into custody. He was transported to the Pacific County Jail Services for the no bail warrant.
Tipler will likely appear for a hearing in the PCSC on March 9.
