Fish & Feathers Back to reality after hospital stay

After spending seven days in Seattle’s Swedish Spinal Institute — the Never, Never Land of the Big City — where they make you believe that riding a surfboard while reeling in 50-pound albacore is just an everyday thing, I’m back for re-habbing at Ocean Beach Hospital.

Here, reality is life. The hospital support team is a more “beach friendly,” the nurses give each shot with a little more authority and rehab takes on a serious tone.
As the time nears for Buoy 10 fishing, reports from the ocean indicate good salmon fishing should be expected initially, with great fishing to be follow.
Those three “dandies” pictured here on the Branch Office always seem to get nice fish on the ocean.

And speaking of albacore, the guys at the “Tuna Club” at the Port of Ilwaco quickly returned to the mooring basin this past weekend with a substantial catch. These fast, delicious fish are running within easy striking distance of the mouth of the Columbia.
