Letter: Democratic Party failures will drive election results

As an avid reader of your newspaper I usually skip over the silly one-sided political guest column or coast chronicles. This week I decided to read them. My first instinct was to furiously point out the “orange man” is no longer in office and disprove all the inaccuracies that were mentioned. After thinking about it I realized that is exactly the reaction these columnists (and ones like them) want.

The purpose of these columns are to distract us from the world thrust upon us on Jan. 20, 2021. This is the day that the United States democratically elected and swore in a Democratic president, Senate and House of Representatives. Along with this trifecta of power, the Democratic Party and their supporters enjoyed (and enjoy) 99% of print and TV media support and of course a near monopoly on big tech and it’s platforms. With this never before seen power by one party, the nation entrusted them to improve our lives in every way. That’s why people vote for people — to improve things.
It is not only impossible to point out one fact-based statistic that has improved since that January day, it is almost as impossible to find something that isn’t worse. The list is long and obvious. No need to point out specifics. Everyday life of purchasing items and quality of life tells the story. Columns about past deeds and opinions of boogey orange men have no bearing on the people trying to survive what this country voted for.
To all the columnists in the world, please understand that come this November and in 2024 when people you despise are voted into office by record numbers — it won’t be the orange man’s fault, not racism, not phobias, not right wing conspiracies. It will simply be a result of one political party being given 100% of this nation’s power to make life better for its citizens and it failed miserably.
