Each year the group votes to determine which non-profit organization will benefit from the surplus sale's earnings. This year's sale raised about $2,600 for the no-kill shelter.
LONG BEACH – The first-ever Pacific County Master Builders Home and Garden Show will come to the Peninsula next weekend to educate and help area residents plan for home and outdoor improvements.
Glenn Trusty, president of South Pacific County Master Builders (a chapter within Olympia Master Builders), says he hopes the event will provide networking opportunities, encourage local business support, and bring a positive change to the local market.
“The focus is to support local contractors,” says Trusty. “People can come see what they can do and what is offered by each of them – there’s a wide range and variety.”
Information, specials, rebates, coupons, discounts and promotional items will be available from many participating vendors, including Dr. Roof, Wall’s Group Services, Nichol’s Masonry and Concrete, Adair Homes, Penguin Windows, Oman and Son, Northwest Home Improvement, Sherwin-Williams Paint, Kitchen Craft, K-Designers, Bonney’s B.J. & R Construction, Dennis Company, Ford Electric and Olympia Master Builders. And don’t miss your chance to win some door prizes!
South Pacific County Master Builders meet the second Thursday of each month from September through July. The group hosts a guest speaker at each meeting to discuss various issues, including representatives from and information regarding the county, community development, green building, energy efficiency, Pacific County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Labor and Industries. Members are also given the opportunity to take classes to further their education.
“Olympia Master Builders sets the pace for the future, for the community,” explains Trusty, whose wife, Hillary, is the home show chair.
Sponsored by Penguin Windows, KAST 1370 AM radio, KCRX 102.3 FM radio and the Chinook Observer, the Pacific County Master Builders Home and Garden Show will be held at the Elks Lodge, 110 North Pacific Way in Long Beach. Hours of operation will be Friday, July 24 from noon to 8 p.m.; Saturday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
