Time Out for Faith: Will you be better off in 2026?

Will your God given life be better off in 2026? Not just physically and financially, but spiritually?

As we look to an adventurous 2026, maintenance is crucial. Whether we like it or not, every thing needs maintaining. Home dwelling and property, appliances, heat pump providing heat and air conditioning, teeth, eyes, overall physical health, pets and mental health all need maintenance.

When our vehicles are sluggish and not operating on par we give them a tune up.

So it is with our physical health. Feeling ill, we get a doctor’s diagnosis based on symptoms, vitals, and blood lab results. The doc prescribes a treatment plan. Hello physical tune up.

If we maintain our vehicles and body, doesn’t it follow our spirit needs maintenance as well? Do you realize that you have a spirit/soul? Maybe this is a new thought for you to consider.

We didn’t create ourselves. The King James Version of the Bible is clear:“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Gen 2:7). All humans are spiritual beings for we all are created in the image of God with a soul / spirit. No other creature has a soul like you and I do.

Life is so much more than just physical — it’s spiritual. Jesus Christ whose birth we celebrated at Christmas is clear when he said, “God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).” The one true God clearly tells us in the Bible that we are to live “Not my power nor by might but by my Spirit says the Lord (Zechariah 4:6)”. Great tasks aren’t accomplished merely by human strength but by the power of God’s Holy Spirit. How is this so you ask? By God’s word for God’s true son, Jesus Christ, tells us: “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63).”

So, when our God given spirit is sluggish or sick what are we to do? We make sure our spirits also get a tune up. Where do we go and who do we see for a spiritual tune-up?

Here is where we are lacking. Only a person adequately knowledgeable can be mechanical in properly tuning our vehicles. Only one medically educated can with God’s help properly tune up our bodies. Who, then, will we trust with a spiritual tune up ? Only God himself can do this.

We all are so blessed. As we look back on 2025 and look ahead we can only be what God has intended us to be if we have spirits that are in tune with His loving Spirit and will.

The one almighty God has provided a mechanic, Jesus Christ, so to speak, who has always excelled as a “Spirit doctor.” Years before Christ was born as God’s Word made flesh (John 1:14), the Jewish prophet Isaiah declared: “And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (9:6).”

We all at one time or another need counseling. Will you be better off in 2026? Know that the Wonderful Counselor, Jesus Christ, is available to give you a spirit tune up. Let’s not just exist or get by in life-let’s spiritually thrive throughout 2026! Let’s keep our Spirit /Soul in tune with God’s Holy Spirit.
