SOUTH BEND — These cases were handled during recent felony dockets in Pacific County Superior Court.

William A. Forsmark, 68 — Almost a year ago he was involved in an incident at the Hungry Heifer Cafe in downtown Raymond on March 22, 2025. He was reportedly carving a piece of wood inside the diner and was asked by a waitress to stop — but instead, flipped out.

Another individual inside the restaurant stood up for the waitress and Forsmark responded by going after the individual with a knife. A struggle ensued over the knife, and patrons and an officer from the Raymond Police Department were able to subdue Forsmark.

According to court documents, Forsmark pleaded guilty in an agreement to second-degree assault and third-degree assault. He faced standard sentencing ranges of 13-17 months and 9-12 months.

The Pacific County Prosecutor’s Office recommended that he be sentenced to 13 months and 12 months, running concurrently. The court saw it differently and sentenced Forsmark to the maximum allowed by the plea agreement of 17 months and 18 months of community custody.

Aimee A. Johnston, 31 — She was arrested by the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 16, 2025, after reportedly lunging at her husband while armed with a knife. She initially faced one count of second-degree assault.

According to court documents, Johnston pleaded guilty in an agreement to an amended charge of third-degree assault. She faced a standard sentencing range of 0-3 months in jail.

The prosecutor’s office recommended she be sentenced to credit for time served, which is depicted in the plea agreement as 42 days. Richter accepted the plea and sentence recommendation.

The felony judgement and sentence form shows the credit as 44 days and 12 months of community custody.

Tara R. Joyce, 32 — One week after a bench trial in which she was convicted of two counts of third-degree assault, obstructing law enforcement and resisting arrest, she was up for formal sentencing.

According to court documents, Joyce was handed 90 days for the first two counts and 364 days — with 231 days suspended — on the two other counts along with 12 months of community custody and five years of court-supervised probation.

Joyce received credit for 133 days she had already served.

Duane A. Magee, 56 — He was arrested on Oct. 30, 2025, after allegedly slicing a man’s chest with a machete in Chinook. He initially faced one count of second-degree assault.

According to court documents, Magee pled guilty in a plea agreement to an amended charge of third-degree assault. He faced a standard sentencing range of 1-3 months in jail.

The prosecutor’s office recommended he be sentenced to 30 days in jail and 12 months of community custody. The court accepted the plea and sentence recommendation.

Gerardo A. Orozco, 26 — He faced multiple cases for violating protection orders along with stalking. He faced a separate case for third-degree assault and pled guilty in a global resolution to multiple protection order violations and the third-degree assault.

According to court records, the global resolution is for a prison-based Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative (DOSA). He faces standard sentencing ranges of 60 months and 51-60 months.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 27.
