Come on, give her a chance!

Bernie has been waiting. And waiting. And waiting some more. This beautiful four-year-old Mastiff mix has been patiently holding onto hope since August 2024, making her our longest-stay resident. It’s honestly hard to understand why. Bernie is a 100-pound bundle of love, resilience and quiet devotion who is more than ready to trade her kennel for a couch.

Bernie is shy at first, but give her a little time and trust and she will absolutely melt into you. Once you’re “her person,” she’s all in: loyal, affectionate and happiest with her big, beautiful head resting on you. Truly, it’s one of life’s simple joys.

She’s strong, she’s smart and does best with someone who can offer structure, consistency and lots of love. Bernie appreciates a confident, calm human who will help her shine. In return, she offers deep companionship and a heart full of devotion.

Bernie would love to be your one and only; she needs to be the only pet in the home.

After more than a year in the shelter, Bernie is tired. Not tired of loving but tired of waiting. She’s proven how resilient she is, but what she really needs now is a home.

Bernie is ready.

Ready to love.

Ready to belong.

Ready to go home.

Meet Sister Celia!

Last week we introduced you to Orlando, now it’s his sister Celia’s turn to steal the spotlight. This sleek beauty is Orlando’s partner in just about everything. If he’s going somewhere, Celia is right beside him (you can even see him in the background!).

Celia is curious, gentle and confident. She’s the kind of kitten who jumps in with just the right amount of mischief. She loves naps, wrestling matches with her brother, and is one of the first to greet new visitors to her space.

Celia and Orlando are a tight knit brother-sister duo and it would be so nice if they could find a home together (but it’s not a deal breaker). If you’ve ever thought about adopting two kittens, this might be your perfect pair!
