April 23 — Denise E. McKenzie, 66, of Long Beach, was cited for second-degree criminal trespass after multiple callers reported that she was walking through the area of the 1500 block of Ocean Beach Boulevard N and screaming at random people. At one point, she allegedly walked halfway up a driveway without permission from the homeowner and began screaming at him for no reason. An officer located her and placed her under arrest, however the jail advised they would not accept on either the new charge or on an outstanding warrant from Cowlitz County. She was issued a criminal citation and released to her residence.

Officers responded to a report of two dogs mauling a deer behind a chain-link fence at the Port of Ilwaco boatyard. The deer had injuries to its head and face but was able to stand and move around. There were no state Fish and Wildlife units on duty at the time. After several attempts, officers managed to herd the deer through a narrow passage between the building and fence so it could escape from the boatyard.

April 26 — A caller reported a male subject walking north on Pacific Avenue carrying an axe. An officer patrolled the area and was unable to locate the subject.

April 27 — Andrew J.A. Watson, 42, of Long Beach, was cited for DUI after officers responded to a 911 open line/automated collision notification in the area of the 200 block of Bolstad Ave W. The call originated from a phone number registered to Watson, but officers found no collision in the area. An officer later located the involved vehicle near the 500 block of Oregon Avenue N with obvious front-end damage. They contacted the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Watson, who was not injured but appeared to be significantly impaired. As a result of the officer’s investigation, he was placed under arrest for DUI, was processed at the police station and transported back to his residence.
