The victim and her mother spoke to LBPD Officer Miranda Estrada about alleged conduct that began approximately 3-4 years before she came forward. She also alleged that the last time was the day before she walked into the office.
According to court records, the suspect, identified as Guadalupe J. Espinoza, 48, inappropriately touched her during the incident the day before.
The victim alleged that Espinoza had raped her around 10 times, which is detailed in court records, including Espinoza allegedly covering the victim’s mouth with his hand or a pillow so she couldn’t scream.

“I asked [the victim] what made her disclose this information to her mother today and she told me that yesterday she had her last straw with [him],” Estrada states in court records. “[He] had allegedly slapped [her] in the face, and that’s when she decided she was going to tell her mother.”
The victim reportedly estimated the last time she was raped was within the “last two months.”
“[The victim] told me that [a subject] told her that Espinoza has watched her sleep multiple times,” Estrada said. “I asked her if that started in the time frame that [she] gave me of when things started, and she told me that it’s been several years.”
The victim told Estrada of multiple incidents, which are too graphic to detail.
Espinoza was located and declined to speak with officers. He was arrested and initially booked into the Pacific County Jail for indecent liberties with forcible compulsion. He appeared for a preliminary hearing in the Pacific County Superior Court on Monday, April 22.
Judge Donald J. Richter set his bail at $200,000, and he is scheduled to be formally arraigned on Friday, April 26.
