Letter of Thanks: Many helpers made for a great Veterans Lunch

Many, many thanks to all who made this fifth Veterans Lunch a success!

The Peninsula Senior Activities Center with John Vale and his energetic band of volunteers, Ocean Park Women of the Moose, Cliff Pedersen for procuring food donations, all the amazing people in our community who donated pies, the 70-plus businesses that did not hesitate to post our flyers, Jack’s Country Store for putting the announcement on their reader board, Al Betters for help in organizing and keeping things rolling, Cate Gable for support in her column, FD1 for bringing the big flag to welcome all the vets as they arrived, the Coast Guard Auxiliary for creating a welcome line as Veterans arrived, my friends who willingly gave their time to check folks in, Gloria McFall who provided inspirational music, Fred Carter and the volunteer office staff who kept track of the RSVPs and of course a big thank you from our entire community to the veterans. We had 75 in attendance.

I am so proud to live in a place where people step up with such heartfelt support.
