Letter: Unhappy Surfsiders should move elsewhere

It appears there is a coup in the makings. The Surfside HOA is under attack by a group of aggressive, unknowledgeable individuals. The instigator is no longer a property owner in Surfside. When he was a member he tried to disband the HOA and was unsuccessful. He sold his property and moved to the bay side of the peninsula. He started the Surfside United group and now has a side business that actually advertises his experience to shut down HOAs everywhere. His coworker in this endeavor does not live here permanently. My husband and I have lived here 13 years. We chose Surfside for the HOA rules and convenience and economics it offers.

We researched the cost of water and garbage without the HOA. North Beach water is at least $540 dollars a year. Peninsula garbage at least $312 per year. That pretty much supports that issue.
We have listened to those newcomers complain about the HOA dues and rules of trees and architecture. They supposedly read (maybe they can’t read?) the covenants before purchasing their homes or property. Why did they buy here? I suggest you unhappy Surfside owners sell your properties and move away.
