LONG BEACH – Have some things sitting around your house that are, well just sitting? Have a collection that you need to downsize? Are you looking for specific item at a low price? Or maybe you’re just like a lot of the rest of us and just like to buy “stuff.” Well either way, be sure to check out the newest business in North Long Beach, Consign Me.

Owned by John and Tamara Angel, Consign Me opened Nov. 15 and specializes in the consignment of furniture, clothes, art, jewelry, handmade pieces and other miscellaneous items.

The couple moved to the Peninsula from Hawaii in September. John, born and raised in Hawaii, had just finished his four-year stint in the Marines, and Tamara, who had been selling real estate for 15 years, chose to make their living near the one place they always enjoyed visiting – Tamara’s grandfather’s house on the Washington coast.

“We like the small town community and that small town feel,” says Tamara. “And our three dogs love it here, too!”

Anyone interested in selling new or old, clean items can bring them to Consign Me, where they will set up an account for your 60-day consignment sales. Store employees typically price the item, but exceptions are made if you are expecting a certain amount. There are no space rental fees and once the item sells, the revenue is split evenly between Consign Me and the seller.

“We have affordable prices, we don’t want to overprice anyone here,” Tamara explains. “We want anyone to be able to shop here. We want to get the items sold!”

And they certainly are selling. Here are just some of the items one can find at the Angels’ shop: handmade quilts and jewelry, clothing, dolls, outerwear, blankets, pillows, toys, shoes, hats, purses, patches, kites, windsocks, figurines and collectibles, artwork, birdhouses, craft supplies, movies, electronics, furniture, knives, household items, dishes, cookware, kitchenware, decorative items, shells, candles and holiday/seasonal items.

The shop offers items for men and women and receives new items weekly.
