ILWACO — Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics (OBHMC) has been named a “2024 Top Performer” by Washington Hospital Services (WHS), a distinction that highlights OBHMC’s commitment to strengthening safety and quality initiatives for both staff and patients.

 

“Being named a 2024 Top Performer reflects our team’s dedication to learning, advancing, and providing the best possible care for our community,” said Merry-Ann Keane, Chief Executive Officer, Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics. “As a nurse and a leader, I’m incredibly proud of this achievement and the commitment it represents.”

 

As a voluntary program participant, OBHMC successfully completed the program’s five key elements, including developing a formal policy, establishing a dedicated team, providing staff training, conducting thorough incident investigations, and implementing effective corrective actions. Through participation, OBHMC improved Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis processes, which are essential for enhancing workplace safety, employee engagement, and overall quality of care.

 

As a “2024 Top Performer,” OBHMC received a commemorative plaque and a cash award, and will be recognized by the Washington State Hospital Association Board at its annual conference in June 2025.
