Haley Eastham has signed to play college softball.

The Naselle senior intends to study and play her sport at Corban University in Salem. Ore.

As a junior, Eastham played key roles on offense and defense in Naselle’s district championship win and fourth-place at the state 1B tournament last spring.

She was one of six Comet players selected for the Columbia Valley/Coastal 1B Girls Fastpitch All-League awards.

Eastham’s talents caught the eye of Corban softball coach Danyelle Huber while playing in summer tournaments.

The Warriors play in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) Cascade Collegiate Conference with teams including Oregon Tech, ranked top in the pre-season coaches’ poll, and Eastern and Southern Oregon universities.

• Corban was previously named Western Baptist College. Corban is a Hebrew word often translated as “an offering dedicated to God.”
