NASELLE — Two suspects attempted to evade law enforcement and warrants by using false names, but a witty Pacific County Joint Drug Task Force officer outsmarted the duo. Officers converged on the couple while conducting surveillance on State Route 4.

The duo are identified as Noah D. Tollefson, 43, and Jennifer A. Tollefson, 45, who had already been on the task force’s radar and were wanted on warrants. They were driving on the highway and stopped at a pull-off around milepost 6.

According to court records, the investigating officer spoke with the alleged driver, Jennifer, who coughed up the name “Bonnie Schultz,” and the alleged passenger, Noah, who tossed out the name “Casey Hall.”

However, the officer had a trick up his sleeve.

“I called what I knew to be Noah Tollefson’s cell phone number and observed the passenger’s cell phone starting ringing,” the officer states in court records. “The passenger declined this call, immediately after which my cell phone went to voicemail.”

The officer also pulled up pictures of “Bonnie Schultz, “ contradicting Jennifer’s assertion.

Officers allegedly observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle while taking the two into custody and located 25 blue pills on their person.

According to court records, the task force applied for and was granted a search warrant of the vehicle, which led to the discovery of a digital scale, alleged fentanyl pills, a large knife, 10g of a white-chalk substance, suspected methamphetamine-fentanyl powder, and psychedelic mushrooms.

They both were arrested and booked into the Pacific County Jail for possession with the intent to deliver controlled substances, fugitive from justice, and criminal impersonation. Jennifer is also charged with third-degree driving with a license suspended.

Each is being held in lieu of $50,000 for the drug charges and criminal impersonation and an additional $10,000 for their fugitive warrants. They both are anticipated to be formally arraigned on Oct. 13.
