The request was for help to rebuild the “playing field” behind the old Chinook school house with hopes next year the field would be ready for playing a number of sports. Soccer, baseball, football were just some of the sports that were mentioned. The project was broken down into a number of phases with field prep for re-seeding being at the top of the list. Timing was critical for they needed to have the field seeded and rolled in before any more rain arrived.
Club membership rallied around the project and passed a motion to either purchase the grass seed, or reimburse the organization for the purchase of seed, not to exceed $1,300. Early Friday morning the check was delivered, the seed planted, the field “rolled in” and by the end of the day, the field preparations were completed, all just before it began to rain.
