Letter: Retain Dave Tobin as peninsula’s county commissioner

Published 3:07 pm Sunday, July 28, 2024

I am writing to express my support for David Tobin to continue serving as Pacific County Commissioner for District 2 (Long Beach to north end of peninsula).

As Ilwaco High School principal, Long Beach reserve police officer and volunteer EMT/firefighter, Dave had an exemplary record of leadership and public service on the peninsula before being appointed county commissioner in January 2023. As our commissioner, Dave has continued to serve the peninsula by learning about the issues in his district and listening without a predetermined agenda, and he is exceedingly skilled at building relationships and bringing people together to solve problems — attributes that are scarce in our government structures today.

We are fortunate to have someone with Dave’s sincerity, concern, education, experience and temperament in this position. He is eager to continue the work he’s started and I encourage residents to vote David Tobin for District 2 county commissioner.
