Ocean Beach Options Academy celebrates largest class

- The largest class ever for Ocean Beach Options Academy received their diplomas last week.
LONG BEACH — A class remembered for sticking with it received their diplomas last week.
It was the largest class ever for Ocean Beach Options Academy, which celebrated a record 27 graduates on Friday, June 9, at the Long Beach Elementary gymnasium.
Superintendent Amy Huntley defined the 2023 class as ‘persistent’ in their pursuit to graduate and achieve their goals, in some cases overcoming homelessness and mental health crises along the way.
“By not giving up, they have overcome,” Huntley said.
The 2023 OBOA class includes: Jasmine Do, Wyatt Hammer, Lahtissah Sexton, Rosie Allen, William Bailey, Rainn Diaz, K. Ayla Eduardo-Davis, Cameron Eros, Zaryah Fisher, Gage Harbison, Anika Haskett, Miranda Heward, Harley Jefferies, Nakayla Kendall, Amera Larson, Alexis Leonard, Iris Manchester, Avary Murry, Jamison Reynolds, Colton Rice, Shelby Turner and Jeremyah Williams.
