Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” John 5:19
A lot of our joys and troubles today have to do with being in or out of sync.
Within our cells our bodies are made to work in sync. Being able to run illustrates how God has created the systems within our bodies to work together, resulting in our running. The rising and setting of the sun illustrate the creational systems being in sync.
Whether it’s your smart TV, watch or computers, it’s crucial your equipment is in what? In sync. Being in sync means you and all others within your particular job system are on the same page, as you work together towards a certain vision and common goal.

Yet with all the idealism of how systems are created to work, it’s amazing how out of sync we humans are. Whether it’s our body breaking down, or airplane parts falling off, or problems within politics, problems develop sometimes because systems or operators are out of sync. It’s frustrating getting permits from county or state government because we get a different answer depending on who we talk with. All too often, we, like others, are simply not in sync with who or what we are about.
Yet despite troubles, God almighty wants you and me to be full of hope and in sync with his Holy Good Will. Praise God that He is a God of goodness, order and accountability. God is never out of sync — all God wills is for our good.
No one understood being in or out of sync more than Jesus Christ. He clearly understood that at the core of life’s troubles is sin, which causes us to be out of sync with God. The Gospel is that Christ understood how through Him we can be rescued from being out of sync and put right in being back in sync with God. His life, death, resurrection and giving of the Holy Spirit were all accomplished so that you and I might be in sync with God Almighty. All he said and accomplished were due to his being in sync with his Heavenly Father. So it can be for you and me. Like a finely tuned car, we are meant to have our heart, mind, body, soul, and conscience in sync with God.
Being in sync with God and life doesn’t mean you and I won’t have problems. Being in sync is both instantaneous and also a continual process.
So let’s enjoy life. Minimize or eliminate with God’s help any problems due to being out of sync with God’s will for our lives.
Are you in or out of sync with God revealed in Jesus Christ?
