Letter: Assessor’s appraisers working on peninsula
Published 1:01 pm Monday, August 5, 2024
Pacific County appraisers have begun inspections in the Long Beach and Seaview areas of Pacific County.
Included in this inspection zone will be north of Willows Road on the south end of Seaview up through Seaview and Long Beach city limits. It will also include all properties on the west side of Pacific Highway up through Ocean Park just south of Surfside Estates area. This will continue from now through May 2025.
They will be inspecting all homes and properties within those areas. The appraisers will be in vehicles marked with the Pacific County logo, be wearing orange vests marked with Pacific County Assessor on the back, and carrying Pacific County-issued identification. The inspections usually take just a few minutes and include new photos of each property. It may also include a knock on the door and a walk around the entire property with the occasional re-measure of buildings that appear changed or inaccurate on our records from our last inspection.
Assessor’s Office staff will always have a county-issued identification during onsite inspections. The Assessor’s Office strongly recommends that property owners ask for identification if they have any concerns or are not sure who is on their property.
If you have any questions about our inspections or any other property tax issue, or see a correction needed on our Taxsifter or Mapsifter websites please contact us at 875- 9301, 642-9301, 484-7301 or 267-8301. Our office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday at the Courthouse in South Bend. Our office at the South County Annex at 7013 Sandridge Rd. in Long Beach is by appointment only until further notice.
