To our fellow Pacific County voters,

I am writing this letter to show my full support for Pacific County commissioner candidate David Tobin. In this letter we will explain many reasons why we believe he is the best choice for the job.

David Tobin has always worked to serve any community he is a part of. This has included working as an EMT/firefighter, reserve police officer, and let’s not forget his many years in education, 14 of which we were lucky to have had him at Ilwaco High School. He has served on the Long Beach Planning Commission as their chair and even spent the last year and a half as our interim Pacific County commissioner. He was appointed to this position and then elected to keep it after the commissioner at that time, Frank Wolfe, had to step down for personal reasons.

This shows that he has already made a great impact on the county and his fellow commissioners.

I speak of his time at our school being a lucky one for us because I was one of the first students to get to experience him as our principal at Ilwaco High School. When he arrived, our school was going through many changes, such as moving the high school to the renovated Hilltop building. He handled every bit of chaos in our school with grace, always worked through disputes with a fairness that is unmatched, listening to all sides of a situation before acting. He was always patient with every student and issue. Everyone was greeted with a smile and some words of encouragement when he was there. This is something that continues to this day when out at community events as well.

Pacific County commissioner candidate David Tobin is someone that looks out for all of the people of our county. His priorities showcase this need to help and benefit everyone. With a special focus on public safety, mental health and Substance Use Disorder services, and education, it further solidifies his desire to make our county a better place for all. As a parent and community member that has a deep value for public health services, such as mental health. It is of utmost importance to have our elected officials have similar values and priorities.

Overall, David Tobin is a candidate who is not only experienced and fair, he has a kind heart and a good head on his shoulders. His core belief, “We are better together” is the perfect summary to how he views this wonderful place we all share, and everything we want to do. He is willing to learn and listen: he will ask questions if anything is unclear and will always get all sides before making decisions in this position. His passion for all of the above is what makes us believe wholly that he is the best candidate for the position of Pacific County commissioner.
