Letter: Patriots, where are your marbles?

Yes, Virginia, history does repeat itself. Even fascist history.

In actual ancient history I am reminded of a fourth-grade classmate, truly named “Richie,” who blew up an orderly game of marbles on the sidewalk outside our classroom. He ranted the game was “rigged” against him. He pouted and subsequently in days later threatened the other boys whose marbles were fairly won. Mr. Hartley, the principal, eventually hosted the young (felonious fellow) in his office.

I can recall my father’s sage remark: “Someday he’ll learn responsibility.”

Today, in the rolling unreality of GOP lies, corruption, election sabotage and death threats to election workers, I ask true patriots: Where are your marbles?
