Nov. 21 — Freedom Market called to report that a woman drove into their stairs, causing damage, and drove off. The woman often parks in their parking space and walks her dog. If she comes back, he will attempt to get her information, but in the past they have had issues with her when they have asked her not to park in their spaces if she is not utilizing the market. Case under investigation.

Motel manager called to report they had been hacked into. The night auditor received a phone call saying their computer system needed an update. The employee stated the computer screen went black. In the brief time he was on the phone with them, the hacker was able to remote in and upload a credit card, he charged a guest’s card, and then refunded the card he uploaded to gain funds. That happened twice in the short time he was online with them. The employee disconnected and notified the manager.

Ilya H. Galitsky, 39, of Ilwaco, was cited for second-degree criminal trespassing after being observed at the Port of Ilwaco pavilion and walking down near the boat docks.

Nov. 24 — Subject reported inside the aluminum recycling dumpster. Officer observed her crouched down behind the dumpster area with two full garbage bags of aluminum cans. She knew she was not allowed to steal the aluminum cans and placed them back in the dumpster. She was told that further violations would result in theft charges. “My body camera did not activate during this contact because I had just changed the battery and the screen indicated it was still ‘booting.’”
