Widespread damage, power outages and cell-service disruptions in Pacific and Clatsop counties resulted from an intense windstorm Monday night, Feb. 24, into Tuesday, Feb. 25, when a peak gust of about 88 mph was recorded at Cape Disappointment at 2 a.m.

The storm took out trees and power lines over a wide swath of the coast, with many roadways blocked by debris overnight as crews scrambled to keep up.

Between Sandridge and 227th, and Sandridge and Cranberry roads, will be closed with local traffic only, and at 199th in the S curves it will be closed completely possibly for the day Feb. 25. There are many trees in the power lines. The PUD is out working hard to get power restored as quickly as possible, according to the PacCom 911 center.
