March 20 — Staff from Ocean Beach Hospital in Ilwaco called stating that a male patient gave another patient meth, and the patient supposedly smoked the meth in the room. An officer contacted the registered nurse, and she said that a male patient was all over the other female patient, who appeared to be very uncomfortable. The nurse said she couldn’t smell anything in the room. The male patient was discharged and had left the property before the officer arrived. The female patient agreed to talk to the officer. She was definitely under the influence, but the staff said she was detoxing. She told the officer that the male patient gave her meth and she smoked it out of a pipe. The officer asked if she was forced to take it, and she said no, but that he strongly encouraged her to do it. The officer said he would log her complaint. She understood. He asked if she had anything else she wanted to tell him, and she said no.
March 21 — The manager of an inn in Ilwaco requested an officer because a subject was causing a disturbance. An officer arrived and contacted the subject, who had a bloody finger. He was convinced that the manager took his phone. The manager said he did not. The subject said that the manager was pushing him out the door and slammed it, and his hand was still in the door. At the same time, one of them had another phone, and it hit the glass as the door was closing, which caused it to shatter. It sounded like none of what happened was intentional. The manager wanted the subject trespassed, which the officer did, and the subject was served with a no-trespassing order. It sounded like they more or less needed to be separated today. They agreed to talk tomorrow. The subject wanted the video of the incident. The officer told him he would request it, but could not make the manager do it. The officer and subject tried to look for the phone, but it was not in the room where the subject thought it was.
A bank employee in Long Beach called, stating that a subject came in with two fake $100 bills. Apparently the woman sold a car yesterday, and the money was what was paid for the car. An officer attempted to call the subject twice and left a message once. The officer later talked to the woman, who said her boyfriend got the money for selling a car. She said he gave it to her to help pay bills, and said her boyfriend is going to talk to the person he got it from. The officer asked where that transaction took place, and she said somewhere on the peninsula. The officer tried calling her back on March 22 to see if she found out where. She did not answer. This report, along with the fake bills, is in the officer’s file. Later on March 22, the officer talked to the woman, and she said that the transaction took place in Portland. She was advised to contact the Long Beach Police Department if they end up calling the Portland Police Department.
There was a report of someone throwing burning items out of a second-story window in Long Beach. When the officer arrived, the fire was out. The resident explained that a phone charger had exploded inside of a suitcase. The officer and someone from the fire department looked through the burnt debris, and it appeared as if an Apple watch charger had caught fire. No suspicious circumstances were found.
March 22 — A subject was contacted for loitering and throwing a water bottle at the ceiling in the pavilion/breezeway area at a pharmacy in Long Beach. The subject moved along without incident.
March 23 — McDonald’s employees in Long Beach called to report a DUI in their parking lot waiting for his food. Wildlife 193 arrived on the scene before an officer did and took the subject into custody for being in physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated.
A female stated there was a black car at the park in Ilwaco, and looked like people over in the park were dancing and playing music. She stated she could see shadows in the bathroom and that it should be locked up. The bathrooms were locked by an officer around 7:30 p.m. The area was checked, and there was no one in the park or a vehicle in the area.
