Organizers of the annual Peninsula Community Connect are recruiting volunteers. The event, which offers help from social services and nonprofit groups for homeless and low-income residents, will take place at the Long Beach Elks Lodge Jan. 30.

Volunteers are needed to help as guides; set up and tear down, and clean-up. People may apply at peninsulapovertyresponse.org/pcc-volunteer-form. Multiple agencies and groups have signed up. The deadline for groups wanting a table is Jan. 10. Applications are found at peninsulapovertyresponse.org/pcc-vendor-form.

The event is coordinated through Peninsula Poverty Response, which is looking for board members. It meets at 2 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at the conference room in the Pacific County building at 7013 Sandridge Road in Long Beach.
