Letter: Time to call in the lawyers

Well, this is it.
I have asked for a chance to talk to you, Ilwaco’s elected leaders. I took every step you suggested, and was stopped each time. I understood it was necessary to have a council member support my request to be on the agenda. That too, was denied. You, each and every one, have made it clear you don’t like me. That’s not anything I can change. I don’t ask that you like me.
You made it clear by your inaction that you don’t agree with me. That too, is your choice. But I thought that the least you could do, as representatives of the people of Ilwaco, was to talk to me about it. You don’t even know what my concerns are, because you won’t listen, won’t give me a chance to speak and that leaves me with no choice.
I’m afraid that your decisions have put me in a corner. The only way I can talk to you now is in court. I tried hard to keep this from costing the people of Ilwaco the fees that your lawyers will charge, and the time it will take away from other city business. I don’t think there is any reason that people can’t talk about things they disagree about, but evidently you folks don’t work that way.
Too bad.
DON BERGER
