LONG BEACH — There’s Chihuahua-sized sombreros, Saint Bernard-sized ponchos and, yes, even pet strollers.
Nearly every dog accessory imaginable is now available at one location in Long Beach.
“We’re pretty much everything from beds to bowties here,” said Romeo’s Closet owner Lori Slayton.
That includes raincoats, shirts, collars, leashes, harnesses, boots and socks, of course.
“Raincoats are a big deal, people have come in for those a lot,” Slayton said.

Not sure if it will fit? Feel free to bring your pet in.
“It’s nice because they can try the products on,” Slayton said.
The store, located at 101 Pacific Ave. South Unit 2 in Long Beach held their grand opening on March 28, roughly two years after the sister store, Romeo’s Pad, opened at 600 Pacific Ave. South.
“Romeo’s Closet came about because Romeo’s Pad is so small,” Slayton said. “All of our clientele kept asking for more and more stuff, and we couldn’t fit it. Romeo’s Pad is the ‘keep your dog alive store,’ with all the products for that. And this store is for everything else we couldn’t fit in there, including clothing, shoes, bandanas — all the accessories. We also have some things for cats.”
The namesake of both businesses is the owner’s 11-year-old dog Staffordshire terrier mix, Romeo.
Slayton is excited to serve pets in the community as well as visitors and their four-legged companions. “Everybody forgets leashes and harnesses,” Slayton said.
“It’s just fun to see customers come in and get excited about the things they get for their pets.”
