ASTORIA – The Astoria Riverfront Trolley Association is looking for a few good conductors, motormen and motorwomen.

Conductors talk to the passengers and give the narration on the Astoria Riverfront Trolley, Old 300, as it rolls on the tracks along the waterfront. Motormen have been trained as conductors and have had additional training driving and operating the trolley. Conductors and motormen sign up for three-hour shifts of their own choosing.
Conductor classes are offered 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, and 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 5. Only one class is required. The 2 1/2-hour classes review the history and operation of Old 300, and conductors take a ride on the trolley to review the scenic highlights seen by passengers.
To become a motorman, candidates must have attended a conductor training class and attend a motorman class in early summer. Additional training time is required onboard Old 300 in order to become a certified motorman.
