Naselle junior Jacob Lindstrom has been honored as 1B Columbia Valley League’s MVP.

Naselle boys basketball

The Naselle boys basketball team (12-2) won their sixth straight game by beating league rival Mossyrock 73-68 last week.

The Comets, now 8-1 in league play, sit in first place in 1B Columbia Valley League play, ahead of Willapa Valley (6-2) and Mossyrock (6-2).

Ilwaco girls basketball

The Ilwaco girls basketball team bounced back from a two-game skid by beating Willapa Valley 53-42 last Friday, improving to 8-6 overall on the season.

The Lady Fishermen are currently 3-3 in league play, behind first-place Forks, Raymond/South Bend, and Ocosta.

Up next: The Lady Fishermen will travel to take on Ocosta (6-8) on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

Naselle girls basketball

The Naselle girls basketball team dropped their last two games (60-33 to Mossyrock and 44-8 to Toledo) to slip to 7-6 overall on the season.

The Comets, at 6-2 in league play, fell to third place in the 1B Columbia Valley League following the losses.

Up next: Naselle will travel to take on Willapa Valley in a key league matchup on Thursday, Jan. 25.

Raymond boys basketball

The Raymond boys basketball team fell to 8-9 overall on the season after losing two of three games last week, including a 73-59 setback to Chief Leschi and a 52-42 loss to Elma with a 56-47 win over Forks sandwiched in the middle.

The Seagulls remain in fourth place in the 2B Pacific League, behind Ilwaco, Forks and Chief Leschi.

Up next: Raymond will next travel to take on Onalaska on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Raymond/South Bend girls basketball

The Raymond/South Bend Ravens girls basketball team split their last two games, including a 69-13 victory over Chief Leschi and a 45-41 loss to Forks last week, falling to 11-6 on the season.

The Ravens remain in second place in league play, behind first-place Forks.

Up next: Raymond/South Bend will host North Beach (1-9) Wednesday, Jan. 24.

South Bend boys basketball

The South Bend boys basketball team fell to 0-14 on the season after losing to 74-57 to Taholah and 72-39 to Ocosta last week.

Up next: South Bend will next travel to take on North Beach on Thursday, Jan. 25.

Willapa Valley girls basketball

The Willapa Valley girls basketball team lost their last two games, including a 49-38 setback to Pe Ell and a 53-42 loss to Ilwaco last week, slipping to 9-8 overall on the season.

Up next: Willapa Valley will host Naselle on Thursday, Jan. 25.

Willapa Valley boys basketball

The Willapa Valley boys basketball team fell to 7-9 after losing two games last week, including a 43-32 loss to Pe Ell and a narrow 50-48 loss to Mossyrock.

Up next: Willapa Valley will travel to take on Naselle on Friday, Jan. 26.
