The Peninsula’s Cranberry Queen Red Hats club has produced a cookbook entitled “Tasteful Treasures.” Proceeds will go to the Humane Society and Fire District No. 1. They’ve only printed 200 and they are available for $10 at Two Steps Back at 1509 259th Place in Ocean Park (665-6011) or Just Treasures at 410 Spruce Street in Ilwaco (642-2004) or you can call Harlean Bouthillier at 665-3503 to get one.

The cookbook itself contains over 200 recipes, helpful hints, cooking tips and also a history of the Cranberry Queens who formed in 2002. Over 80 women on the peninsula attend their activities. Help these ladies raise money for two worthwhile causes.

An opening page of the book reads “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming … Damn, what a ride!”
