ILWACO – Ilwaco Middle and High schools will be giving state tests during the weeks of April 19-22 and April 25-28. Students in grades seven, eight, 10 and some 11th-graders will be taking the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) tests.
Students in Grade 9 will take the Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED). Students’ attendance is vital during testing weeks. Any tests not fully complete will count as a zero and will be listed on the student’s transcript.
The school will be on a half-day schedule Tuesday, April 19, through Friday, April 22. Buses will leave the school at around noon on those days.
Students in grades not being tested will present their senior projects, attend seminars, and analyze their remaining credits necessary to graduate and pre-schedule for next year’s classes.
Spring schedules for middle school students will be from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. April 19 and April 20. Parents and guardians should schedule an appointment with their child’s teacher.
On April 21, both middle school and high school conferences will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., with staff dinner break from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary on April 21.
