Students in the 11th and 12th grade wishing to retake the WASL for the purpose of improving prior scores, or ninth grade students wishing to take the optional WASL, may do so during the above dates.

WASL testing will be administered to third, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade students April 17 to May 5.

The performance-based assessment include reading, writing, mathematics and/or science and is based on Washington’s essential academic learning requirements. Students requesting access to the WASL as an ancillary service from OBSD are expected to follow the same timeframe as enrolled students and take the test on site.

Private school and/or home-based students wishing to participate in the WASL should contact Bette Arne, Ocean Park Elementary principal, at 665-4815; Gary Flood, Long Beach Elementary principal, at 642-3242; Todd Carper, middle school principal, at 642-3731; Lisa Nelson, high school principal, at 642-3731.
