A fundraising event is being hosted Feb. 10 for 18-month old Brinley Lopez, the daughter of Grays River resident Haley Footh. Suffering from infantile diabetes, Brinley had to be airlifted to Doernbecher Hospital in Portland due to a life-threatening turn for the worse.

Brinley is now home, but expenses incurred due to her illness are overwhelming. In an effort to assist in her health care costs, the Rosburg Community Club and the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 111 are hosting a Mini-Smorgasbord at the Rosburg Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 10. Attendees will have a selection of oysters, chicken wings, meatballs, vegetables, salads, desserts as well as water, punch and coffee. The hosts suggest a donation of $12.
“Here is an opportunity to help an infant member of the community who is in need and, at the same time, enjoy a meal and converse with old and new friends,” said Auxiliary President Dee Nikkila.
