Obituaries: Lois O. Short

VANCOUVER – Lois O. Short, 85, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, in Vancouver. She was born June 24, 1924, in Stevenson, to Allen and Eva Sunderlin.

She graduated from Stevenson High School and acquired art and floral design degrees at Clark College. Early in her children’s lives, she was active as a leader in Cub Scouts, Girls Scouts and the Garden Club.

She retired to the Peninsula in 1987, where she enjoyed clam digs, crabbing in the bay and gardening. She was an avid and gifted artist, and she loved to swim.

Survivors include her children, Warren Lee Dunn of Portland, Frank M. Dunn of Portland, Linda M. Tudor of Brinnon, Janice L. Vance of Ocean Park, Teresa S. Jackson of Vancouver and Glenn P. Dunn of Vancouver; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her spouses, Warren K. Dunn and Lowell Short, preceded her in death.
