NASELLE — Patty Jean Busse was born to Walter H. and Margaret J. (Mathews) Busse on Oct. 7, 1954, and died at her home Jan. 31, 2024. She attended Naselle-Grays River Schools graduating in 1972. She then attended Portland State University earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
She worked for Bonneville Power for over 30 years as an engineer retiring at 55. She moved to Spokane twice in her career but always ended up back in Portland. She had a love of cats and had her own special kitty named Jessica. She supported the Cat Adoption Agency and Feral Cats of Oregon with her time and financially. She loved her group of friends like family and enjoyed many hobbies with them. Crocheting, knitting, gardening, playing bunco, supporting our troops and investing. She was also a permanent staff volunteer at RWV Retirement Community.
She spent a lot of time traveling to Naselle to see her dad or traveling to various events her nieces and nephews had going on. She loved to have family reunions and picnics. As her health began to decline she was more home bound and she was an avid user of Facebook to keep tabs on what was going on with everyone. She was also very good about sending out cards with notes to the recipient.
She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jerry. She is survived by her brother Scott (Dee), and sister Carolyn. She is also survived her nephews Mike and Blake and neice Lynne and their families. She also leaves behind several cousins she was close to and her close friend group she thought so highly of.
