The all-volunteer South Pacific County Technical Rescue team is typically the first to respond to swimmers in distress calls on our Peninsula. A spaghetti dinner to benefit the group is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 30 at the Lost Roo, 1700 South Pacific Highway in Long Beach. For $10 a plate, they will be offering spaghetti with clam sauce or marinara, as well as vegetarian options, bread and salad.
