SEATTLE — Maureen Ann Mullins, 82, died peacefully on Dec. 23, 2014, in Seaside, Ore. The daughter of Rene and Esther (Plautz) McMahon, she was born in Milwaukee, Wisc. on Oct. 2, 1932. Maureen grew up in Milwaukee with her parents and two sisters and completed her high school education in Milwaukee.

On July 11, 1959, she married Guy Mullins and they established their residence in Arlington, Wash. Maureen was a wife and homemaker, later to become mother of four children. In 1975 the family moved to Naselle from Arlington and Maureen was a 39-year resident of the local area.

Maureen was employed as a key-punch operator when she met her husband. Following time off to raise her family, she returned to the workforce again as a key-punch operator and then a computer operator for Telephone Utilities in Ilwaco.

Always helping others, Maureen retired after volunteering for various churches and also the Crisis Support Network in Naselle. She sang in the church choir when her children were young. Maureen loved cooking, needlework, painting, walks on the beach and Sunday drives in the country with her husband and children. Camping and bird-watching with Guy were also enjoyed and she took special note of the beauty of the area with the fall colors and the pussy willows in spring.

Maureen is survived by daughters, Jacki Mullins Witt of Bremerton, Wash. and Kerry (Dennis) York of Naselle; a son, Clay Mullins of Naselle; grandchildren, Jeremy Witt, Toni Mullins, Kyle Mullins, Alexa York and, Skyler York; nieces and nephews, Joe Huberty, Julie Seagraves, John Huberty, Lynda Buchanan and Ann Larson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guy Mullins and son, Scott Mullins.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m. at Penttila’s Chapel by The Sea in Long Beach. A reception follows at the chapel.
