Surfside tourney raises $3,373 for scholarships

SURFSIDE — Surfside Golf Club hosted the Third Annual Surfside Golf Clubs Scholarship Tournament on April 22 at Surfside Golf Course.

The tournament is a two-man, 18-hole scramble and open to both men and women.

There was a three-way tie for first place, with all teams posting a 64. Congratulations to Rob Sanderson and Ric Minich, Terry Hillman and Greg Chalker and Denny Norton and Steve Burton on their win.

Despite stormy weather, golfers showed up to support the tournament that funds scholarships for Ilwaco graduates with an interest in golf. Individuals and community merchants contributed to the event, which raised $3,373 for scholarships.
