Fred Carter will be performing in Oysterville.

OYSTERVILLE — Popular Peninsula singer/songwriter Fred Carter will be the featured musician Sunday, Aug. 4 at the eighth Oysterville Music Vesper service of the summer.

Although Carter’s set list was “undecided” at press time, his fans know him to have more than 1,000 songs at his fingertips.

“If I’ve heard it once, I know it,” he says with a smile. “But I don’t always remember the words. That’s where technology has become very helpful!”

Lay Minister Pat McKibbin, a Vespers volunteer for several decades, will conduct the 3 p.m. service. Suzanne Knutzen, also a Vespers “regular,” will play the vintage pump organ and Oysterville’s Susan Holway will share a traditional Oysterville Moment with the congregation. As always, the public is invited “to come as you are” and to enjoy an hour of worship and fellowship in the historic Oysterville Church.
