Naselle sweeps Quinault in districts, starts state play vs. Pomeroy

NASELLE — The Lady Comet volleyball team cruised past Lake Quinault in the district tournament in straight sets (25-0, 25-5, 25-14) Nov. 2 in Naselle.

The Comets (15-3) were especially dominant in the first set, preventing the Elk (2-7) from scoring a single point amid masterful defensive play.

Naselle MD/OH Kaylin Shrives had several memorable scoring plays, where the 5’11 junior rained spike after spike down on a discombobulated Lake Quinault defense.

Naselle opens state bid against PomeroyNaselle (15-3) will start their quest toward a state championship against Pomeroy (8-7) Thursday, Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Yakima Valley SunDome. The Pirates finished fourth in the 1B Southeast standings while Naselle finished second in the 1B Columbia Valley standings.
