Final batch of Cape D summer fun slated

Rangers at Cape Disappointment State Park have organized the final week’s program of outdoor activities this summer.

Presentations7 p.m. Aug. 27, Miho and Diego will give a concert at Waikiki Beach Amphitheater. Their music blends Latino, Japanese and American traditions. At 10 a.m. Aug. 28, they will offer a 45-minute participatory “musical trip around the world.”

7:30 p.m. Aug. 28, “Peril on the Pacific,” a description of two shipwrecks will be held at the Benson Beach Amphitheater.

The amphitheater is located in Campground A. Visitors should follow the paved path behind the main restrooms.

Guided hikes2 p.m. Aug. 25. “Ferns, Ferns and More Ferns.” Hikers will learn to identify ferns. Participants should meet at the Cape Disappointment trailhead near the park office. The program ends at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. A half-mile one-way trip.

2 p.m. Aug. 27. “Is that edible?” a hike to learn what parts of the forest are edible. Meet at the Coastal Forest Loop parking lot. A half-mile round trip.
