April 7 — A manager advised that there were people camping in the parking lot, and they had garbage around the vehicle, which has an Oregon plate. He also stated the people used the restroom behind the building. An officer contacted the subjects and told them they needed to leave, and spoke with the manager, who asked the officer if he could tell them to pick up their “waste.” The officer said “absolutely.” The subjects left without picking up their “waste” and the manager called the officer back to the scene. The officer told him that if they return, then they could most likely get them for illegal dumping. The officer asked him when did they go there, and he said midnight, the prior night, and there’s no staff on at night.

Caller reported parking his red 2016 Toyota Tacoma pickup was in a marked parking stall on the east side of Subway. He entered the restaurant and then exited approximately 15 minutes later. At that time, he discovered damage to the left rear bumper, left rear tail light assembly and left rear quarter panel of his vehicle. A white paint transfer mark was present on the quarter panel. The damage was initially estimated to be at least $2,500. No witnesses were identified. Subway employees confirmed the video surveillance cameras on their building are not functioning. The damage was photographed. The victim completed a written statement.

April 8 — An employee stated there was a shoplifter who was wearing a green hoodie who took five small items. The subject left on foot. They would like the subject trespassed. The officer was unable to identify him. The officer also searched the area for the subject, and was unable to locate him.

Caller reported that her dog had a seizure last night. Today, they found some sort of chemical in the yard. They spoke to the landlord, who stated they put nothing out and no one had come to apply any pesticides of any sort. The yard is a shared yard with other tenants. It appeared to be a yellowish-white powder, and her boyfriend stated it was burning his nose when he picked up what he could, but they would need some rain to come through and wash it into the grass. We have plenty of that.

April 10 — A woman came in to report the theft of $1,200. She states she was paid rent by her tenant on March 29. She was feeling ill that day and believes she put it in her bedroom and planned to deposit the money later. The following Monday, her checks began to bounce and she could not locate the money anywhere. She states she had several of her girlfriends come in and “tear the house apart” looking for it, but they could not find it. She believes it was stolen by her ex, as he was the only other person in the residence. After speaking to the bank, they advised her to make a report.

April 11 — A man was walking up from the docks near Coho Charters and was approached by a male subject of Middle Eastern descent, driving a brand new white Jeep SRT. The subject offered the man a gold ring, but wanted him to drive with him and pump his gas. Once the man said no, the subject sped away. The man called back to say the “Middle Eastern gold guys” are back at it. He is sending someone over who just got ripped off for $1,500 who bought gold- plated brass that isn’t worth $5.

A man came in with a ring and three gold chains, one with a large gold pendant with diamonds. He said a subject from Saudi Arabia sold it to him at the gas station because the subject needed cash to buy a plane ticket back to Saudi Arabia. The man gave the subject $1,500 for the jewelry. The subject then offered him more jewelry. When the man became suspicious of the transaction, the man sped away in a small white truck. He said the man’s wife was wearing a hijab on her head. The man brought the gold jewelry into D. Minto’s to sell it, and that is when he found out it was gold-plated brass and worth nothing.

April 12 — Reporting party called 911 to report being assaulted by a female house guest. Upon arrival, she stated that the guest grabbed her upper right arm and pushed her out of the room. The caller complained of upper right arm pain, but had no visible signs of injury. She initially told the officer she wanted the house guest charged with assault, but also explained that she just wanted her removed from her house because she didn’t want to testify in court. The officer contacted the guest upstairs in the residence. She was argumentative with the officer and firmly believed that a male subject was trying to enter the room. She told me she pushed an unidentified male subject out. It is plausible that she believed the caller appeared to be a male, based on the hat and clothing she was wearing, and the dark lighting conditions in the residence. She denied being a resident, or living at the house, and told the officer she was just a guest. While the officer was talking with her, she demanded a business card and the officer verbally identified himself by name and ID number. She then demanded to be provided with an attorney. The officer told her she could call an attorney at any time. When the officer told her that the caller requested her to leave, she said she wanted to hear it directly from the caller. At the officer’s request, the caller came upstairs and told her to leave. The house guest collected her belongings and departed on foot without incident, and without giving the officer an opportunity to provide her with his business card. She was clear with the Washington Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center. It was confirmed that she departed the residence tonight while it was still daylight, and has returned since.

April 13 — Caller reported that 45 minutes prior, someone was driving up Washington with a “Neo Nazi” flag on their car. She said that she takes offense at the flag and doesn’t think that other people want this stuff in town. She said that no one talked to her or harassed her, but she just wanted someone to know. She did not want contact. The call was taken as information only.
