One injured after car vs. power pole in Seaview

A woman sustained minor injuries in an April 18 collision with a power pole that forced a lengthy closure of State Route 103-Pacific Avenue in Seaview.

SEAVIEW — One person was transported to the Ocean Beach Hospital after a crash on Pacific Avenue in Seaview at 2:39 p.m. on April 18.

According to the crash report, Sandra R. Osterholme, 77, of Astoria, was traveling southbound on Pacific Avenue in a 2016 Volvo XC50 T5.

Osterholme reportedly veered into the northbound lane of traffic and struck a power pole at the corner of 51st St. Her vehicle then spun around, coming to rest partially in the roadway.

It is unclear why Osterholme veered across the roadway.

Osterholme sustained minor injuries in the crash, including a hand injury that required surgery.

The base of the power pole was splintered in the collision and had to be replaced by the Pacific County Public Utility District #2. Comcast and CenturyLink services in the area also sustained an outage due to the damage. Traffic was diverted around the scene while a crew replaced the pole and restored service.

The incident was investigated by the Long Beach Police Department.
