March 7 — A caller reported a court order violation and malicious mischief at the Fisherman’s Cove RV park in Ilwaco. He states his gas cap to his vehicle was open, and both of his vehicles had been spray painted. The caller said he had no proof that it was a certain party, but he was sure it was. The officer looked at the order and it appeared to be one attached to a parenting plan, and any violation was to be filed through the courts. The caller was told he needed to seek a domestic violence protection order. He said he understood. Officers: Please do extra patrols through the park.

Caller reported her vehicle had been hit at some point today on the passenger side. She reports she had been in Warrenton, Oregon, and parked at the Port of Ilwaco, and when she arrived at the above location, she saw where her truck had been hit on both the front and back passenger doors. The vehicle is a 2023 GMC Sierra.

March 8 — A 911 caller reported blood present on the walls, window and door of the unisex bathroom at the Bolstad restroom building in Long Beach. She said her husband entered the restroom and discovered the blood. He photographed his observations and also used the adjoining restroom to wash his hands. She said they departed the restroom, stopped at the Long Beach Police Department briefly, and then called 911 after they left.

Upon arrival, an officer observed what appeared to possibly be drops of suspected blood on the door handle, garbage can and an orange traffic cone outside of the southeast restroom. He entered the restroom and observed what appeared to be suspected blood spatter and a couple of suspected blood smears throughout the restroom. A paper towel and/or toilet paper with red stains was also present on the garbage can and on the floor inside the restroom. He also observed a fortune cookie paper fortune in the sink. The words “all things have an end” were visible on the paper fortune in the sink.

He then conducted a check of the area around the restroom building, and did not observe any other suspected blood on the ground. He observed the same type of suspected blood spatter on the outer doors of the portable toilets immediately south of the restroom building. He requested a Pacific County Sheriff’s Office K9 team to conduct a possible track for a victim and/or suspect, but a K9 was not available. He called Long Beach Volunteer Fire Department Chief Kyle Jewell, and requested they respond to assist with a search of the area, including using FLIR thermal imaging. LBVFD responded, and checked the area visually and with FLIR. Nothing was found.

The officer photographed the restroom and the portable toilets. A check of the garbage can contents was conducted, with negative findings. A sample of the suspected blood was obtained and secured as evidence. The LBVFD completed a wash-down of the portable toilets and the restroom. Chief Jewell also advised that he would notify the employee responsible for cleaning the restrooms of the possible bio-hazard. The log entry will serve as a case report unless additional evidence of a crime or an actual victim is identified.

March 9 — Caller reported a theft of a birdhouse, valued at approximately $30, from her back porch by a female this morning. She stated she discovered the theft after reviewing her surveillance camera this evening. The video surveillance was reviewed, and the subject could not be identified. Pictures of the female subject are posted in the squad room. Extra patrols are requested.

Caller requested a police response to have her children’s father removed from the hotel room at Inn at the Sea in Long Beach. A 9-month-old child and 3-year-old child were also present in the room. An officer contacted her by phone, and she stated she currently lives somewhere else but came to Long Beach to get away for the weekend. The father showed up in the hotel room this morning and they ended up spending the day together, but had been arguing this evening. She stated she did not feel comfortable with him staying and wanted him to leave. When officers arrived, the hotel employee on-duty stated he was unaware of any type of problem at the hotel tonight. The officers contacted the people at the room, and confirmed there was no probable cause to arrest either person for any type of domestic violence-related crime. The male stated he would leave the room for the evening if the female did not want him to stay for the night. He left for the evening and stated he was going to return to their house in Amboy. He departed without incident. The hotel employee working the front desk was advised to call if there was a problem after the officers cleared.
