Letter: Don’t miss ‘Dear Jack, Dear Louise’

In our era of digital technology and communication, it is hard to believe that in the recent past most people only wrote each other either on paper, with cards, or just notes.

Saturday night’s live production of “Dear Jack, Dear Louise” at the PAPA Theater at Fort Columbia highlights how letters can affect our lives. Two extraordinarily talented young actors relive the correspondence between two people so masterfully it as if you were there experiencing what was in their letters! Carly Keene plays Louise, an inspiring actress in NYC, while Liam McCaughey plays Jack, a young Army doctor.

A riveting performance, it leaves you somewhat breathless while waiting for the next letter!

This was the first time an amateur theater was allowed to perform it, thanks to the advocacy of PAPA Director Angela Grote. Ken Ludwig, the play’s writer, was impressed that it would be performed in our historic Army’s Fort Columbia Theater. The play is imbued with the spirit of what many call the “Greatest Generation.”

There were not a lot of dry eyes! Don’t miss it!
