ILWACO — For their March 5 gathering, the Pacific County History Forum will again meet in Ilwaco at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum (CPHM).
According to Forum Spokesperson Sydney Stevens: “Since so few of us could make it on February’s snowy Wednesday date, CPHM Director Madeline Mattson and Exhibit Curator Betsy Millard have graciously offered to do a repeat performance for us! We’ll begin promptly at 10 a.m. and continue until 12 noon.”
Again, the topic under consideration will be the life and work of Charles Fitzpatrick, illustrated by photographs and drawings from the museum’s extensive Fitzpatrick collection. In addition to works documenting the years he lived on the peninsula (1920s-1950s), examples of Charley’s artwork depicting pioneer times will be available. Many of those drawings, such as his ubiquitous stagecoach, were drawn according to the descriptions given to him by old-timers who had been here “back in the day.”
Attendance at the forum, as well as entrance to the Heritage Museum is free, and all history buffs are invited to attend!
