SOUTH BEND — A group of Pacific County citizens who call themselves the Recall Rangers presented a resolution at the Pacific County Commission meeting on Feb. 11 demanding Commissioner Lisa Olsen resign immediately.
The demand is in response to Olsen’s arrest on Nov. 5 for allegedly driving under the influence and crashing on State Route 6 around milepost 11. The crash happened shortly after election night results were released, including Olsen’s successful reelection bid.
The resolution submitted by the Recall Rangers includes an “embarrassing detail” rundown of the chain of events that led to Olsen’s arrest.
Olsen’s case is working through the North Pacific County District Court, and there have been no significant developments.
“Commissioner Olsen’s resignation is necessary to restore public trust, ensure ethical governance, and maintain the integrity of the Pacific County Board of Commissioners,” the resolution states.
According to the group, Olsen has until Feb. 27 to submit her resignation, or they will begin a recall process, including taking it to petition.
“We have [five] brave citizen voters who will be the Petitioners in this action against Lisa Olsen; the group has retained legal counsel and is ready to go,” Recall Ranger member Pattie Gray Stated.
“This is in the best interest of the voters of Pacific County to inform them of the process for full transparency,” Gray added.
