LONG BEACH — January got off to a relatively nice start.

Through Jan. 9, the WSU weather station on Pioneer Road recorded 3.02 inches of rain, but 2.84 inches of that fell on two days, Jan. 3-4. Those were also the windiest days, with high gusts of 20.3 and 22.1 mph.

The low temperature for the month so far was 34.2 degrees on the clear night of Jan. 9. The high was also on the 9th, topping out at 59.9 degrees.

Weather in Naselle has been close to the same, with total rainfall of 3.45 inches Jan. 1-7. The wettest day was Jan. 4, with 1.13 inches.

Overnight lows of 33 degrees were recorded three times at the Naselle Salmon Hatchery. The high for the week was 57 degrees on Jan. 7.
